Official Disorganized Mind Brand Disclaimer
Everything I share here — on this website, on YouTube, on TikTok, and on Instagram — is meant to make mental health information easier to reach. But because I'm a licensed clinician talking publicly about diagnoses, therapy concepts, and real people's stories, I want to be upfront about exactly what this content is, what it isn't, and what you're agreeing to by using it. Please read this fully, and remember that nothing I post is a substitute for professional care.
-
Everything on this website and on my YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and any future accounts (collectively, "this content") is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not psychotherapy, counseling, clinical treatment, or a clinical service of any kind. Nothing I post is intended to assess, diagnose, or treat any specific person, and none of it is tailored to yours or anyone’s individual circumstances, history, or mental health needs. General information about a topic is never a substitute for individualized care from a licensed provider who actually knows your situation.
-
Watching a video, reading this site, following an account, leaving a comment, or sending a message does not create a therapist-client relationship, a clinical relationship of any kind, or any duty of care between us. Because no clinical relationship exists, none of the legal protections that apply to an actual therapy relationship — including therapist-client privilege and confidentiality — apply to anything you share with me publicly or privately through this content.

I am licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker with Supervisor designation (LICSW-S) in the state of Alabama, license number 5385C-S, regulated by the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners. My license authorizes me to provide clinical social work services within Alabama; it does not authorize me to provide therapy, clinical assessment, or any other licensed clinical service to residents of other states or countries. If you are located outside Alabama, nothing here should be understood as an offer of clinical services to you, and I encourage you to seek a licensed provider in your own state or country. This content is published for general audiences everywhere, but the license behind it only travels so far.

This is not a crisis service, and I am not able to respond in real time. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or contact your local emergency services right away. If someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. Comments and messages sent through this website or through YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram are not monitored for emergencies and should never be used to report one.

When I talk about a diagnosis or mental health condition, I'm describing it in general, educational terms, how it's commonly understood and diagnosed in the field. I am not evaluating you, or anyone in particular, for that condition. Recognizing yourself in a description of a diagnosis is common, and self-identification (including self-identifying as autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent) is a valid and meaningful part of how many people come to understand themselves; nothing here is meant to dismiss that. What a video can't do is give you a formal diagnosis, which requires an individualized evaluation by a licensed provider. So please don't make decisions about medication or other medical treatment based solely on something I've said here. Take what you learn here and work through with a licensed provider directly.
-
When I discuss a story that someone else posted publicly, including on Reddit or elsewhere, I'm offering educational commentary and analysis from a clinician's perspective, not a clinical opinion about the real person who wrote it. I have not met, evaluated, or treated that person, and nothing I say about their post should be understood as a diagnosis, assessment, or statement of fact about them or their situation — it's my read on the story as written, for teaching purposes. I generally avoid using identifying details in stories submitted to me, and I try to focus on the pattern or concept the story illustrates rather than the individual. These stories were posted publicly by their original authors, and for the stories submitted to me directly through the website, I acquire permission before using it on the account. If you wrote something I've discussed and would like it removed or handled differently, please reach out through the contact page and I'll take it seriously and deal with it with haste.
-
What I share reflects my own professional opinions and clinical perspective; it doesn't necessarily represent the views of any employer, colleague, supervisee, professional association, or the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners. Mental health is a field that keeps evolving. Sometimes reasonable clinicians disagree with each other, so something I say here shouldn't be taken as the single settled answer on any topic. I will, however, strive to provide evidence-based research, skills grounded in research, and a clinically informed opinion when responding to stories.
-
I do my best to make sure what I share is accurate and well-sourced, but this content reflects my understanding at the time it was published, and mental health research and best practices change. I don't guarantee that anything here is complete, current, or error-free, and I'm not responsible for how the information is understood, used, or relied upon after it leaves my hands. If a decision matters to your health or safety, please verify it independently with a licensed provider.
-
Comments and messages you leave/send on this website or on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or any other platform are not confidential and are not protected the way something you tell a therapist would be. Please don't post details about a crisis, a diagnosis, or other sensitive personal information in a public comment. Remember, everything on the internet lives forever. I read messages when I can, but there's no guaranteed response time, and messages are not a substitute for reaching out to your own provider or, in an emergency, 988 or local emergency services.

This content is distributed through third-party platforms — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and others — that have their own terms of service, privacy policies, algorithms, and advertising, none of which I control. If this site or my accounts link out to another resource, that link is offered for convenience and isn't necessarily an endorsement of anything or everything on that site. I'm not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party platform or website.

By watching, reading, or otherwise engaging with this content, you acknowledge that it is general education rather than individualized clinical advice, that no therapist-client relationship is formed, and that you are responsible for your own decisions and actions based on anything you see here.
